My name is Sarah, Having had 3 children
(almost 4) of my own, I have struggled with my urge
to buy adorable, cute, but useless items I would never
buy for myself but would like to give as a gift to
the new moms in my life. My dilemma was solved with

Hi, my name is Rebecca, co-founder and partner with
my sister, Sarah, in April Showers Cakes. Being the
eldest growing up in a family of ten, we often found
ourselves making a lot of crafts and at home projects.
There were are a lot of great artists in our family
but I wasn't one of them! Drawing and painting is
not my forte, but the use of colours and placement,
mixed with patterns and design really interest me.
I started designing cards and calendars for family
and friends and here I found my talent. I am now married
with 3 beautiful children and every year the amount
of cards and calendars really add up as does the experience
and ideas.
So where did our idea of designing diaper cakes come
from? The first diaper cake that I had seen was the
one that Sarah had received at her baby shower. It
was the centrepiece for the table and it made such
a beautiful statement, not to mention being so useful.
This was the perfect opportunity for me to use my
interest of colour and design and transfer them to
diaper cakes.
